Black History Month

Black History Month celebrations were in full swing at the Mississauga Valley Community Centre on Tuesday, February 23. People stopped by from morning till evening to participate in free community skating, family story time and bead bracelet making. The event was hosted by the Citizens for Advancement of Community Development (CACD), who are located at the community centre and offer assistance to youth at risk through sports as well as coaching in life skills and parenting. The evening was jam-packed with cultural performances and music and poetry recitals. The celebrations culminated with guests being offered samples of traditional food.
