Speed Dating for Charity
Just before Valentine’s Day, 30 guys and 30 girls got together for the first annual Speed Dating for Charity sponsored by the Rotaract Club of Mississauga. The fun-filled event took place at “On the Curve Restaurant” at Square One and was an exciting opportunity for singles to get out and try to find their match made in heaven. Participants were allotted 2 ½ minutes to strike up that connection before a bell alerted them to move on to their next date. In total, each participant had the opportunity to meet up to 30 potential dates. Midway through the event, there were light finger foods and an opportunity to visit the cash bar. The rules of the Speed Dating were simple: first name and email were only given out to those who matched that night; participants were not allowed to ask where their dates live; and finally, men moved and women were to stay seated. All proceeds from the event supported the Sleep Children Around the World (www.scaw.org) organization. Let’s all give a round of applause for all of those who attended Speed Dating for Charity, and let’s hope that Cupid's arrow hit the target for at least one connection!
