Kick-off to Port Credits 175th anniversary
It was -11C outside but that didn’t stop hockey players from lacing up their skates for a fun-filled day of four-on-four pond hockey outdoors at Port Credit Memorial Park. There were five teams in the tournament which started at 8am and continued throughout the day, culminating with the championship game at 3:15pm. Teams consisted of 6 players and the games were played on an outdoor rink. Each player was guaranteed four games and players received a special souvenir hockey jersey for their participation. PC Warriors were the winners, defeating the Fram Huskies with a final score of 15-5. The outdoor pond hockey tournament was the start of a series of events celebrating the 175th Anniversary of Port Credit. Throughout 2010, a number of special events have been planned for the community, from early January outdoor ice hockey, Canada Day festivities to late year Christmas Carolling, Port Credit has an event for everyone. Be sure to stay informed by checking out SNAP's calendar for up coming events.
