Cancer Prevention Night

Members of the community gathered for a fun but informative evening out recently at this year’s Cancer Prevention Night. Hosted by the wonderful staff and volunteers of Glenforest Secondary School, the night began, on January 12th, with some refreshments, some socializing and lots of smiles! Local organizations and businesses came out to show their support by setting up information tables and displays for the community to explore. Guest speakers, Randy Dalton, Dr. John McLaughlin and Lynda MacNiven, shared personal stories and discussed their research and efforts towards the fight against cancer. Led by the Canadian Cancer Society, the free event helped the community to learn how to prevent cancer while also supporting those living with the disease.
