2008 October > United Way Rubber Ducky Dip-A-Thon

Erindale Park in Mississauga, held its annual United Way Employee Campaign Rubber Ducky Dip-A-Thon on September 19. The event is to raise funds for the United Way. The event works by buying a duck. The hundreds of brightly coloured ducks are dumped into the Credit River and whichever one reaches the finish line first is the winner. The ducks have been bought by employees and the money goes to the United Way. The grand prize is $1,000, which this year was won by Joe Hamilton, $200 of which he donated back to the United Way. Normally, the campaign raises around $5,000, but the goal of this campaign is to raise $180,000. After the duck race is completed they finish off the event and the day by celebrating with a barbecue.
