2008 October > St. Lawrence Cement Open House

On September 13, St. Lawrence Cement opened its doors to the public to show what really goes on and how cement is made. The event included a number of informative displays about how cement is made and information about the day to day operations at the plant. Some of the more interesting things happening today were a bus tour that ran through the plant so guest's could get a better understanding as to what is in the cement that holds houses and roadways together. Kids who attended the event could also sit inside some big trucks and tractors that were on site. Members from the Canadian Peregrine Foundation were also on hand with one of their birds to show the guests and also explain what the job of the bird is. The company also hosted a barbecue for hungry guests. The event was a huge success and drew many people.
